HOW I CAN HELP
Managing Anxiety and Panic Attacks
Find a calmer, more confident way forward
Anxiety is a natural part of life, but when worry, fear or panic begin to affect your everyday activities, it can feel exhausting and overwhelming.
Perhaps you find yourself constantly worrying about what might happen, avoiding situations that make you uncomfortable, or experiencing physical symptoms that seem to appear out of nowhere.
Whatever anxiety looks like for you, you don't have to face it alone.
I understand how difficult living with anxiety can be because I've experienced it myself. Hypnotherapy played an important part in helping me feel calmer and more confident, and it's one of the reasons I'm so passionate about supporting others.
My approach combines hypnosis with practical, CBT-informed techniques, helping you develop a greater understanding of your anxiety and learn ways to manage it.
How Anxiety Can Affect You
Anxiety affects everyone differently. For some people, it's a constant feeling of worry or unease. For others, it can appear suddenly as intense fear or panic.
You might recognise some of these experiences:
Physical symptoms
-
A racing heart, sweating or trembling
-
Tightness in your chest or changes in your breathing
-
Dizziness, nausea or feeling light-headed
-
Muscle tension or headaches
-
Difficulty relaxing or sleeping
Thoughts and feelings
-
Constant worry or expecting the worst
-
Feeling overwhelmed or unable to switch off
-
Fear of being judged by others
-
Feeling on edge or unusually alert
-
Avoiding situations because of anxiety
-
Worrying about experiencing another panic attack
These experiences can be frightening, particularly when you don't understand why they're happening.
Although anxiety can cause physical symptoms, it's important not to assume that new or unexplained symptoms are caused by anxiety. A healthcare professional can help rule out other causes.
How Can Hypnotherapy Help?
My hypnotherapy programmes are designed around you, your experiences and what you'd like to achieve.
We'll work together to explore the thoughts, feelings and patterns that may be contributing to your anxiety, while developing practical ways to respond differently.
Depending on your needs, our sessions may include:
-
Hypnosis and deep relaxation to help you practise feeling calmer and more settled.
-
CBT-informed techniques to explore unhelpful thinking patterns and develop alternative responses.
-
Practical coping strategies that you can use when anxiety or panic begins to build.
-
Pre-recorded hypnosis sessions and guided exercises selected to support your progress between appointments.
My aim is not simply to help you feel relaxed during a session, but to help you develop skills and confidence that you can continue using in everyday life.
Everyone's experience is different, and we'll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
“Laura really has changed my life. I have learnt the tools needed to get me through basic life tasks that used to be like facing a den full of hungry lions. I can go food shopping on my own again, meet new people and talk freely, and finally go into crowds and not feel like I'm being suffocated. If you're thinking about having sessions, do it. It truly is life changing.”
